Ring in the New Year with a Sparkling Dark and Stormy

A few years ago I had my first dark and stormy ever and ever since its been my go-to drink. They remind me of balmy summer nights and cold, cold drinks. I dont usually drink them during the wintery months but I figured a splash of champagne would make them festive enough for New Years.
Im doing the old-person thing this New Years and hanging out at home with a few friends and Ive been thinking about what Im going to make for us to sip on that evening. I want something that doesnt require a ton of ingredients and something I can prep beforehand. This is a perfect option. Im also thinking of trying to make my first Glogg, the Swedish mulled wine. If any of you have a go-to recipe, Id love to hear about it!
Happy New Year!
