Game Day Baked Onion Rings

Can I tell you that crispy fried onion rings are one of my all-time favorite must-eat-during-Game-Time foods. Whenever I go to a sports bar (which is probably once every few years), the item that I always order are big pile of onion rings.
I have had the annoying pleasure of frying onion rings at home and they are a drag to make. There is hot oil, which is obviously never ideal because the disposing, and possible spillage and splatters which are cumbersome.
Luckily, there are baked onion rings that taste—in my humble opinion—just as good. Regular onion rings don’t rely on bread crumbs to add any crispiness because they have flour and the hot oil. But since we don’t have the hot oil, we need some added crunch. Panko bread crumbs do a great job with adding wonderful texture. I served them and dipped them in ranch because there’s nothing better. Oh and of course, feel free to double this recipe if you’re watching the game with more than four people.
Enjoy The Game!
