For young enthusiastic kitchen explorers there is no better time than now to flex your creative abilities in making sweet holiday treats to eat and give away. For the past year my oldest daughter Abbi (age 12) has been taking it upon herself to cook up batches of sweet confections without any help from me, which I love seeing her do. She fell in love with fudge after buying some at an Oregon seaside resort town that sold about twenty different varieties. She bought a small block of rocky road fudge and likes to brag that she ate it all in one hour. Since then she enjoys making homemade fudge because its easy and lasts a long time. Most of the time when she makes a batch it is to give away to others and share with friends. She also enjoys making it with friends.
