When it comes to children's birthday parties, I usually bake cupcakes for my kids because they're cute and conveniently baked in single portion servings. Don't get me wrong, I love traditional birthday cakes decorated in ribbon swags, sprinkles, and frosting roses along with their traditional floral sprays. But give me a beautifully decorated cupcake, and I am all smiles. I suppose this is the child-like part of me who has always, and will always, love cupcakes.
Baking and decorating birthday cupcakes is an event both my daughters look forward to each year. They are old enough to frost and decorate them and enjoy the baking process.
The nice thing about decorating cupcakes is how easy they can be. I have a hard time resisting those thinly frosted cupcakes with a few pinches of sprinkles on top - simply perfect.
