Salish Grilled Salmon with Red Nation Wild Rice and Huckleberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 filet of Pacific salmon
  • 2 cup of wild harvested huckleberries
  • 1 cut wild rice from Red Lake Nation
  • Slice of lemon

Instructions

  1. Build a fire with cedar or alder planks on top to add flavor
  2. Grill salmon over the fire until the fat bubbles through the top.
  3. In a separate pot, boil 4 cups of water and add in wild rice.
  4. Boil for 35 minutes then add in huckleberries and boil for 5 minutes more.
