Salisbury Steak

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 4 whole eggs
- 1/2 tablespoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 4 ouncecan mushroom soup
- butter or margarine for sauteing
- 2 medium Spanish onions
- 2 tablespoons beef base
- 4 ounces flour
- 1 quart water
Instructions

Combine in medium size mixing bowl the beef, eggs, pepper, salt, garlic, breadcrumbs, and mushroom soup. Mix ingredients well.

Form 6-8 thick patties, set aside.

In a large skillet, melt margarine (4 ounces). Making sure your skillet is hot, place patties in pan, brown on each side for about 4 minutes.

Remove patties from pan and set in a baking dish or pan.

For the gravy: In reserve drippings from the steak's pan, add 4 ounces flour, heat and stir. Add 1 quart water with 2 tablespoons beef base, stir vigorously until gravy is hot and begins to bubble. Pour gravy over salisbury and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve with grilled onions.
